Ha's Story
Ha married an American citizen and moved from Vietnam to America.
Upon arrival in America, Ha found it very difficult to communicate. She is happy with her move but realizes, "With a new life, you need to communicate with everybody.”
Ha owned a bridal shop in Vietnam and would love to open one here, but she needs to learn English first. Her husband found the literacy council and arranged for Ha to start classes. At first, Ha thought that “free equaled not good,” but she was quickly surprised. She loves that she not only learns how to speak English but also the culture and the way people think. She “loves the environment of the classes and views the students as a family.”
